Halifax Free Walking Tours
Hi Folks! Due to considerations surrounding the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic, Halifax Free Walking Tours has decided to suspend operations for this summer season (2020). We are very sorry, and we hope to see you sometime in the future!
WHO WE ARE
Halifax Free Walking Tours is a student-run initiative that operates walking tours of Halifax, Nova Scotia.
We run daily tours at 10am and 3pm between June 1st and September 4th. In the off-season, tours are run by request. Our tours typically take 1.5-2 hours, and are accessible for strollers and wheelchairs. Four-legged friends also welcome!
Our tours are "free" because we believe in paying for the experience that you get. Once the tour is over, guests are encouraged to tip their guide only if they feel that the experience was worthwhile.
WHERE TO FIND US
Every tour begins at the same spot: the top of Citadel Hill. You'll find one of our guides waiting for you at the observation deck across from the main entrance of the Halifax Citadel. If you are facing the harbour, you're in the right area. Look for the sign!
WHAT PEOPLE SAY
The tour was about the important places in Halifax, important historical events, anecdotes, and recommendations for places to go. Highly recommend it.
Chicago, USA
Very enjoyable. It gives you a good overview of the downtown area and things to do. Very informative, great stories and lots of fun.
