Halifax Free Walking Tours- it's all in the name! The tours are a by-donation informative and engaging pedestrian tour of Downtown Halifax, and last approximately 1.5-2 hours. One of our dynamic tour guides will show you the highlights of the city they love, tell personal stories, and share fun and historical facts. You’ll see the historic and modern sites that make Halifax the awesome city it is. Our guides will share their knowledge of the historical, cultural, political, and military significance of Halifax’s landmarks. Our tour will take you through the historically meaningful parts of Downtown Halifax and, of course, some of the fun parts too!
Location
Tours start on the top of the Halifax Citadel, and end along the waterfront.
One of our tour guides will be there to greet you at the pedestrian entrance to the Halifax Citadel on the observation deck right above the Town Clock.
Tour Schedule
June 1 until September 4th:
Public tours leaving at 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM every day. *No need to book in advance for these!*
Tours approx. 1.5-2 hours in length
September 4th into November:
We're happy to continue giving tours throughout the fall! In the off-season, tours can be organized by booking through e-mail. Keep in mind that our guides are students and are only available to give tours around their class schedules. We will try our very best to accommodate!
N.B. Due to considerations surrounding the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic, Halifax Free Walking Tours has decided to suspend operations for this summer season (2020). We hope to see you some time in the future.
Whether you are a long time resident of Halifax, or just stepping off a cruise ship, you will surely learn something fun on our tour. Tours are in English, but we are happy to arrange French tours by getting in touch ahead of time. With advance contact, we can also accommodate different timing and arrangements for larger parties (10+ people).

Les Visites à Pied Gratuits d'Halifax vous propose exactement ce que nos titre suggère: une visite à pied qui traverse le centre-ville d'Halifax, payer complètement par don, guider par un de nos guides formidables. Nos guides vont vous montrer les sites de la ville en partageant l'histoire vielle et courant d'Halifax et aussi leurs connections personnels avec la ville.
Endroit
Les visites guidées commencent au sommet du Citadel d"Halifax et terminent à la promenade au bord de la mer.
Un de nos guides vous rencontreras à l'entrée piéton du Citadel d'Halifax, au terrasse d'observation en haut du horloge de ville.
Horaire
Du 1er Juin au 4 Septembre:
Visites publiques à partir de 10h00 et 15h00 tous les jours.
*Nos visites publiques sont en anglais. Cependant, plusieurs de nos guides sont bilingues et peuvent fournir des traductions. S'il vous plaît email à l'avance pour un tour seulement français*
4ème Septembre-Novembre:
Nous Les visites sont seulement par réservation. Car tous nos guides sont aussi étudiants, les visites sont seulement possible quand ils sont disponibles.
Si vous êtes une résident d'Halifax ou quelqu'un qui passe en voyages, nous sommes certaines que vous vous amuserez pendant la visite guidée. Si vous avez une groupe de 10 personnes ou plus, contacter nous pour planifier une visite de groupe.
